ROC is hosting NAR’s National Sport Launch for 2019. It will be held in place of our June ROCstock, June 7 to 9, at Lucerne Dry Lake.

We are looking for volunteers for the NSL Committee, to help plan and execute the launch and associated activities. We have a bit under six months to get things together.

Needed Committee Members:
*T-Shirts/swag coordinator(s)

*Vendor coordinator

*Contests/Competitions coordinators
-Special launches/projects
-Scale contests, static and/or flying?

*Support for Level 1 and 2 certification (Should be NAR level 2 or 3)

Of course, we will need volunteers for all our normal positions at the launch.

Come join us for our annual ROC Membership meeting. We’ll be having the membership meeting in conjunction with a pizza party-free for executive members and their families. Due to the wet weather today and a forecast for possible rain this Saturday, and another storm next Wed and Thursday the ROC Board has decided to cancel the December 7-9 Rocstock Launch.

We are monitoring the weather forecast and conditions of the lakebed closely.  Unfortunately, the lakebed cannot tolerate much rain at all. The October storm really saturated the ground.  As of the this morning several sources are forecasting for Lucerne Valley a 100% chance of significant rain later this week and 30% later next week.  If the lakebed gets any amount of measurable rain between now and December 7th, ROCstock will be canceled.
